When I begin coaching recently divorced
Women who now live alone,
I start with helping them gather their support team.
Why do I do this?
To reduce the amount of emotional stress
when something comes up around the home that
needs immediate attention.
Today I watched this happen ….
It’s Sunday, and for a couple of days
I’ve noticed water running down the gutter.
I thought it was normal sprinkler run off.
The water drew my attention because
it was starting to pool at the curbside.
Pooled water draws Mosquitos.
The water was coming from my neighbor’s yard.
My neighbor, is a single female living alone,
and she didn’t know the sprinkler was broken.
Then she had no clue what to do.
Not a gardener in sight.
She was unaware of how to shut off the water
or how to repair the leak.
Meanwhile, the water keeps running.
However, this was an easy fix.
1. She could repair it herself, which is
what I would do at my home….
It can be messy and wet.
2. Turn off the water at the water valve or sprinkler
system until her support person arrives.
3. Shut off the water main, which
also stops water to the home.
My neighbor chose 2.
