My  hope  for  us   this year is that we give ourselves the gift of self-awareness.

With self-awareness comes the ability to manage our thoughts and emotions.

As a clinician the single thing that helped my clients was taking responsibility for their own thoughts and emotions.

When you no longer blame others for how you feel

you have the  power  to  create  the life you want.

In my personal life, becoming self-aware helped me really understand how my thoughts created
my emotions and my emotions drove my actions.

My emotions were not caused by someone else.

They were caused by me, by what I was thinking.

Self-awareness is knowing what you think about yourself and how you feel about yourself.

Both the good thoughts and feelings and the not so good.

Being self-aware   is not an easy thing to do.

We like to run or hide from those shadow places.

The places where we know we aren’t our best selves.

The shadows are scary and uncomfortable.

Some of us even run from the light.

The  good  thoughts.

We play small or we sit on the sidelines watching. Afraid to step into our power.

We use a lot of energy running just ahead of these hidden places.

We distract from those thoughts and feelings that hover in the shadows,
because it makes us feel vulnerable and exposed.

Becoming self-aware   takes  courage.

Knowing yourself, really knowing who you are is the place where you can become free from all the negative self-talk,
and the uncontrolled emotions.

If you no longer heard you weren’t good enough, or you don’t deserve this, or you’re not worthy…

How  would  your  life  change?

Be kind to yourself as the shadows become clear.

The shadows served a purpose, in some way they wanted to keep you safe.

Moving forward will require letting go of some of these shadows and often they fight hard to stick around.

Becoming    Mindful   is so worth it…….
