Ladies are you afraid of the unknown right now?
Feeling the responsibility of living on your own for the first time?
Well get ready, because sometimes crap happens.
Things come up that
Just aren’t on the to do list.
Things you need to handle,
be calm, and think through.
Today was that day for me.
A bunch of ravens were in my back yard.
This was unusual.
I went out to shush them away.
Most flew higher, except one.
It flew into the pool. Ugh.
Something wasn’t right
This bird can’t fly!
Now what?
Here’s where thinking it through,
staying calm, is really helpful.
So what would you do?
I called around, looking for a bird rescue.
The rescue shared, just capture it and bring it in.
What? Just how do you capture a raven?
Then…
I looked out the window, the raven was
floating on the top step of my pool.
Not moving …
Chanting in my head….
“I don’t want to do this, I don’t want to do this”.
I scooped up the bird with a shovel…. it moved.
Then ran under a bush.
At this point, I needed help.
I called a friend who I knew
Would be willing to help me capture a bird.
It helps to have that kind of friend.
We captured the bird with the pool net,
Put him into a closed box,
Then drove to the Wildlife Rescue.
I bought my friend a Starbucks.
You never know when you have to do
Hard things.
I realize not everyone would feel bad
About a raven …
But it was hard for me.
But I can do hard things,
Even with tears.
And so can you……
