Here it comes….. that  holiday.

The holiday we sometimes dread…

Valentine’s Day.

A day for lovers.

Everywhere there are reminders that we are not in a relationship.

People are getting engaged, people expressing their love.

And you…

Are recently divorced and living alone.

Desperately wanting your partner back.

It’s a recipe for feeling lonely and sad.

If you let it.

Today your relationship status isn’t where you would like it to be.

Staying in the sadness for too long isn’t really helpful.

The sadness doesn’t change anything it just makes you feel more alone.

Your singleness remains the same and you feel like crap.

An alternative is to make it a day of self care.

Do something that lifts you up.

Buy your own damn flowers and candy.

Cook your favorite meal.

Turn up the music and dance.

Dream of the future you can now create for yourself.

You have some healing to do before you can go out and find your soul mate.

This is a time for just you and discovering who you are now,
and what you want now.

Make it a day all about you.

Love on yourself.
