As the pandemic creeps along I find there are days I feel so isolated it’s overwhelming.

I feel as if this heavy wet blanket is wrapped around me dragging me down.

I’m barely hanging on.  It’s a desperate feeling.

I asked what I would be doing differently if the pandemic was over and I was safe
to go anywhere I wanted.

Not much really.

I work from home and I live alone. So most of my days I would be isolated anyway.

BUT….

I could go somewhere if I wanted to and I’d be planning trips and adventures
for when I could arrange time to travel.

What makes some days feel so desperate and other days feel more optimistic?

It’s all about my thoughts.

The days I feel desperate I haven’t connected with anyone.

I feel lost, lonely, and scared that I’ll always be stuck home alone.

My thoughts are me centered, no one wants me, I’m not loved, this is never going to get better.

The days I feel optimistic my thoughts center around the future and creating my business for my clients.

Desperate days are centered around poor me, optimistic days are centered around others.

What do I do to get out of the funk of desperation?

I have a plan.

  •  I get outside and walk my dog.
  •  I sit and listen to my thoughts and then let them go.
  •  I sometimes drive to Starbucks just to have human interaction.
  •  I reach out and call, text, email friends just to say hi.
  •  Sometimes I cry. Crying releases that pent up energy.

The trick is to have a plan before you go into a funk.

Once you’re in the funk it’s hard to pull up from it; you just have to ride it through.

It doesn’t feel good to feel desperate. It’s clingy and needy.

So why stay in that space for very long if you can have a plan?

It’s good to have a plan.

Today, come up with your plan for when life feels hard.

A plan that helps you move faster through the funk of desperation.

Don’t despair for too long. It’s a waste of your time.

You got this…..
