One of the hardest things to learn

is how to soothe your own emotions.

We often look outward for others to calm us down

or ensure us that we are indeed ok.

The only drawback……

When we need others to calm us down

We never learn the skills to do it on our own.

We rely on others.

If someone isn’t around

We can spend days and nights,

upset and spinning, losing sleep.

Learning the tools to soothe your emotions

is important for you because

this is where real change can happen.

Getting frustrated, angry, or upset

it’s always about something being triggered within us.

These triggers are places of growth.

They are unresolved issues,

beliefs, or places of our own insecurities.

They can be unmet expectations.

Having someone else tell us

We are ok is a temporary bandaid.

Working through our hurt places,

Being able to sit with the pain is strength.

Your confidence gets higher

Your self worth grows.

It’s not easy going inward,

Looking into our dark shadows.

Most of us are very hard on ourselves.

We need to learn to have compassion

for our perceived flaws.

There’s a sense of freedom when you learn

how to handle whatever emotion comes your way.

You got this…
