When you first become divorced

sitting alone in your home,

You’ll hear yourself say,

I don’t know“….. often.

I don’t know what happened,

I don’t know why this happened.

I don’t know what to do,

I don’t know how to choose.

I don’t know how to do this………

Staying in the “I don’t know spin”

causes a lot of anxious feelings.

These thoughts serve no purpose

other than to cause grief !!!

You don’t always need to know why.

Why did he leave, he fell out of love.

Does that why make you feel better?

The why often does not give you relief.

I don’t know can be a distraction

from making a decision.

Which is a decision.

At least a decision to delay.

I don’t know could mean

you need more information.

Then go get it.

When I worked with kids as a therapist.

I don’t know was used so often with parents.

Kids found that I don’t know

got their parents to stop asking.

In reality, you are the only one who

does know what you want.

Take the time to know

your thoughts, wants, and dreams.

Being afraid to choose between two options

perpetuates that thought loop spin.

Make an educated choice,

then have your back about the choice.

Avoid second-guessing.

In time life will show you if it was a

decision that makes sense to you.

If not, choose again.

It’s all information moving you

toward a life well-lived.

Trust yourself.

You got this…..
