Have you hit the emotional wall yet?
I hit the wall this past weekend.
I was full of frustration
my head was resting in my hands
Tears were rolling down my cheeks.
I’d had enough.
I’m tired of the pandemic.
Tired of people dying.
Tired of the political anger.
I’m so over my broken hand.
Tired of being inconvenienced.
Bored with the social isolation.
Done.
Is this happening for you?
I let the tears flow because I knew
crying was the only way through the pain.
Resisting the emotions only makes them stronger,
or cause headaches, stomach pain, anxiety.
Talking to people can help but only
if you talk with the right person.
If you don’t get the right support for you
it can add to the level of frustration.
Letting go of the tears allows
the emotions to move through you.
Crying releases oxytocin and endorphins,
the “feel good” hormones.
Your bodies way of helping you feel better.
So cry when you need to cry,
Get support where you can.
Recognize when you are in pain.
Instead of resisting the pain or pushing
away from the hurt,
Acknowledge the emotions and let them
move through you.
You got this …
