I get it, we as humans don’t want to feel bad.

We do so many things to avoid

feeling our emotions.

We like the fun ones.

We don’t like the ones that hurt.

The “crunchy” ones.

Going through a divorce is going

to bring up “crunchy” emotions.

As a Gestalt trained therapist and life coach,

Emotions are everything.

I’ve witnessed how the inability to handle emotions

Can adversely affect your mental status,

Your quality of life, and your desires.

Lack of emotion leads to

distance in relationships.

It leads to all types of addictions.

When you shut off from your emotions

you don’t get to choose which ones

get to hang around.

Both the good and the bad feelings

get pulled into this narrow band of feeling.

We dull the edges of life.

We feel disconnected.

It’s like coloring with the 8 box of crayons.

But life is the 96 Crayola box.

Vibrant and at times very dull.

Not wanting to feel bad

keeps us from our dreams.

Emotions alert us to a need or a fear.

The most resilient mentally healthy people

learn to regulate their emotions,

They learn to let emotions run through them.

Sitting with emotions allows us to find

the thoughts that drive these emotions.

Thoughts can be challenged

and changed.

It’s all about thriving not

just surviving….

You got this….
